COMPUTER ENGINEER · SOFTWARE & APPLIED AI

Hi, I’m Daniel Gaio.

Software, data and AI, built around practical problems.

I’m a computer engineer with experience in software for financial services, automation and applied AI. Here I bring together the things I build, the decisions behind them and what I’m learning along the way.

Purposeful engineering. Continuous learning.Selected work

Three perspectives on my work

Product thinking, hands-on engineering and a habit of learning by building.

ProsperSync: from an image or voice note to an expense

Personal project · Product engineering

Building the expense-capture experience of a personal finance application, using images and voice as inputs. This work brings together the Next.js application, PostgreSQL and OpenAI.

ProsperSync: connecting AI analysis to the product

Personal project · Backend integration and delivery

Built a financial-analysis service with Python, FastAPI and LangGraph, with shared model configuration and provider integration. Delivery work also includes automation for application-function deployments and database migrations.

02 / THE PERSON BEHIND THE CODE

Curiosity, made practical.

My path connects computer engineering with software and automation in financial services. Across these experiences, I’ve worked with backend APIs, data integration, production support and technical documentation.

ProsperSync is where I explore a product of my own: a personal finance application that combines expense capture from images and voice with conversational financial insights. Building it also means connecting AI services to the product and working on shared configuration and delivery automation.

This website is my next learning project. I’m building it with TypeScript, Node.js and AWS, with practical exercises in security, reliability, observability and distributed systems. I want to show the decisions, tradeoffs and lessons as the work develops.

BUILDING & LEARNING

This website is part of the work.

I’m building this portfolio on AWS to get hands-on with security, resilient delivery, caching and observability. The goal is to make the decisions and lessons worth sharing.

Let’s build
something useful.

Have a problem to solve, a project to build or an opportunity to discuss? I’d like to hear about it.
